It is not just an algorithm that's causing these fact-checkers to come to the top of the searches. There are people like George Soros that are funding these fact checkers, which use those funds to pay Google to have their website show up first. I tried changing to the DuckDuckGo app, which is presumably independent from Google, and got the same fact Checkers showing up at the top of the results. Either DuckDuckGo is accepting the same payment system or because I'm using an Android device Google is still influencing the search results.
