Even 72 hours is a ridiculously short amount of time to read a 4,000- to 5,000-page bill. At the very least, the time should be a week, and even then it is unlikely the congressman or congresswoman would be personally reading the entire bill but rather it would be staffers reading parts of it and reporting back to him or her.
