This footage was taken with my Nikon P900 few years back looking at the Terranea Peninsula in Rancho Palos Verdes CA from the Trump Golf Course. I used the cellphone tower as a point of reference to demonstrates that the Sun is moving to the right as you would expect during the summer when the Sun’s circumnavigational path above us is shorter during the longest days of daylight. In the winter the Sun actually sets in the ocean much further to the left! The Sun’s path is actually a big circle above us but we don’t get to see the full circle because of perspective as a result of large distances.
