This beautiful song by Mylene cites from Primo Levi's 1945 memoirs of surviving Auschwitz- a book titled "If This is a Man", and it is a testament to this day not only of the particular horrors that were World Wars I & II, but of 20th-century warfare itself- the sad fact that genocides and mass migrations are often part and parcel with the conflicts. Mylene includes the title of Primo's book in her lyrics, in the line i translated in Italian as "se questo e un uomo". At the mid-point of this melody, Mylene sings "Zokher Eth Ayom", which is Hebrew for "Remember the Day". Here are my Italian equivalencies.
