I only started in 2020, but so far quite enjoying it :) At least is open-source and not from Big Tech, and so far is quite effective and fast IMO - enough to make it worth it to use for me :) But its very important to be aware of possible drawbacks and alternatives for the software we use, as in everything in life :) Check this out: https://ethical.net/resources/
