I realize, that I am about to engage in a dispute with Nicholas Carr (who am I and who he is!), but I disagree with his conclusion, that we are loosing an "ability" to deeper thinking, analyzing new information. I would say, that it is more of a "skills", that are being lost. And general understanding of necessity to do that "thinking and analyzing". May be, that what Nicholas meant, but I believe, the right words are important in subjects like this one. I, also, think, that the "mechanics" of the process are not new. Basically, that what magicians use to do their tricks- they overwhelm, deflect, distract your attention- and there you are, wondering what happened. This method have been used by salesmen, by crooks... It is old. What is new, thou, it is the scale, in what this technique can now be implemented. You can make millions of people, who are intellectually lazy enough, to "follow the shiny object", what ever that is, and form "their" opinion, for example... That are my thoughts. Anyway, it was very interesting. Thanks.
