Exactly, the injected RNA strand gets copied and then goes to other cells to essentially be allowed in because the copy was made by the original cell. The problem is, it's infectious and will make the other cells sick. This is what happens when you catch a Flu. When this procedure happens, there's another cycle that gets activated but it takes up to 2 weeks to build up the antibodies to stop the run away strands. This is called the Lysogenic Cycle it works with the Intracellular Immune system inside the Cell. This cycle is responsible for informing the Crispr Cas Array that the viral strand is hazardous and to destroy it in the future should it ever arrive again. This is called Immunity i.e. Measles - Rubella - etc.
