We have always had extreme weather all around the world. Burning fossil fuels (releasing CO2) into the atmosphere is not causing it. This is just how the world weather is. There are external influences that do cause some of our weather variability. We know that sun spot activity varies and has caused some of our extreme weather. There is also the Milankovitch Cycles that are responsible for long term changes to the climate.
