Fossil fuel ? I've never seen any fossils that were fuel ? If your calling grasses and fire wood fossils we're in trouble ! Hum, sounds like it was around the same time Kentucky got blown apart by tornadoes, just a coincidence I'm sure.

In semi-arid environments, there are alternative dry and wet periods. When it is dry, organic life dries and is fuel if flame occurs. When it is wet, the plant life grows to use all the available water and then becomes dry and eventually a resting dormant phase slowly becoming fuel. More water, more biomass. If the accumulation of fuel is not removed, inevitably the fire that must occur, occurs with a massive fuel source. If there is never water then there is no biomass, or if it never dries, then natural decay by active fungi, bacteria, and insects is the natural cycle to remove the acculmination. Or human could set fire at appropriate and opportunistic times.

Why the hell do Americans build houses out of WOOD. What do they expect to happen with fires and tornadoes etc etc.

I suppose the consequences of stupid building regulations an always be blamed on climate change. Then again a less densely packed neighbourhood wouldn't make as much money, so there is presumably little prospect of doing anything which might prevent a repeat of this. Building on flood planes in the UK also relies heavily on 'climate change' to explain away the inevitable flooding of property which results. A suspicious person might think that 'climate change' just provides a convenient fig leaf to cover corruption in local planning departments.

Shutting down reliable energy supplies for hopium-fueled ones is just virtue signaling... like wearing a useless cloth mask outdoors. No backup plans in sight for energy; nuclear plant approval and construction takes decades. No backup plans for water, either, as the aquifer depletion continues unabated. It's irresponsible madness everywhere you look.

Wyoming is looking more and more attractive to me. I'm no fan of cold winters, but even less am I enamored of the utter insanity of Leftist politics. It's not just politics anymore. Lives and enterprise are being ruined systematically. Washington State may before long become uninhabitable for me.
