The Thief In The Bottle

Pedal floored... Engine revving high. Traffic laws ignored... Everything rushing by. Heart pumping furiously, Adrenaline surge. Alcohol racing through you. Car speeding dangerously, Given false courage. Eyes hollow, Distorted view. Ignorant of the danger. The thrill of a high speed buzz. Reality's become a stranger. That's what alcohol does. Impetuous reactions, Eyesight blurred, Don't want to stop, need more. Unfound satisfaction, sobriety obsured, Oblivious to what laws are for. Your car has become A killing machine. No longer yourself, You're an alcohol fiend. Integrity and common sense had rotted away. No thought of the thousands that die everyday. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ High speed and whiskey do not mix. Risking people's lives, Just to get your kicks. Before you go driving With your car full throttle. Think of the Intoxicating Thief In The Bottle. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Posion poured... A life of insanity. You're out your gourd. Causing your own calamity. A part of this idiosy, Binge and purge. Spirits calling out to you. Car skidding wrecklessly, Not even discouraged when the night lights up red and blue. Pushing your car faster. The thrill of a high speed chase. This game you think you've mastered. King of an insane race. Delayed reactions, Eyesight blind, sudden lights in your eyes, can't see. Your car has lost traction, The speed combined with the sudden surprise... All die instantly. A vehicle can be a deadly machine. You're not yourself when you're an alcohol fiend. Integrity and self respect will help you sustain. Take back what belongs to you... The power in your brain. Logic and whiskey do not mix. Risking other lives, So you can get your kicks. Before you go driving with your car full throttle. Think of the Intoxicating Thief In The Bottle. #MADD Written by: Michael Taylor 1998. Rewritten: July 16th. 2021 ©
