These days, some modern dairy farms cover up large manure piles, to recuperate the escaping methane, to be used as heating gas for barns; Some people already have all the free energy that they need, and don't even know it. I could easily imagine big city sewage being re-directed towards large bio energy plants, possibly even producing electricity with it, rather than just being dumped in the rivers and oceans, polluting everything.
