William Campudoni is a boxer from Spanish Harlem who grew up poor, was abandoned by his father, was abused, and became nearly homeless. He said in a video released on Sunday that Donald Trump changed his life. The video called "American Comeback Story" was created by L@la films and directed by Lucas Baiano. It had no connection to the Trump campaign but is probably the most powerful video that speaks to the Republican nominee's character. It tells Campudoni's story and the moment he met the billionaire. "At the age of 22, I was on the brink of being homeless. I remember one night on Christmas Eve, I walked into the St. Patrick's Cathedral and I said, 'God, please give me a purpose,'" he said in the video. "As I exited, I walked down 5th Avenue and there was this gorgeous building. I walked inside and I said, 'I'm looking for work.' The next day, Trump hired me off the street. He gave me five navy blue suits. He shook my hand and he said, 'Welcome to the family.'" He told about how as a boss Trump always looked out for him, even stopping meetings to buy Campudoni dinner and writing personal notes about how proud he was of him. "I hear these accusations, but let me tell you first hand. He employed people from all origins. We were all treated like family, and I remember that, and I admired him for that. He put us all first." Campudoni said that he never had a father, but Donald Trump and his trainer Cus D'Amato taught him what he needed to know about life. "Cus D'Amato taught me how to be a fighter, but Donald Trump taught me how to act like a champion. Mr. Trump just didn't give me a job that Christmas day. What I realize today is that he gave me a tool to help rediscover my purpose, which would be an inspiration to my children."
