You are not taking the devaluation of the dollar in mind here. The dollar today is worth less than 5 cents as compared to then. You are not acquainting the increase in production means from then compared to today, or the yields of crop production. Nor are you fracturing the quality of the product then as compared to today. Truth is you actually get less for your money today than you did back then.
