I can see how this could arise if some form of model-referenced filter were used, which implicitly assumes a relationship between temperature and CO2 concentration. However, the data are then useless for demonstrating whether such a relationship actually exists. Having examined the garbage that passes for the 'science' which underpins the hoax, I would not be surprised if the root cause were incompetence, rather than malice. The amount of money pumped into climate science would regress the standard of 'scientist' employed back towards the peak of the bell curve resulting in mediocrity rather than excellence.

Why is an official government agency cheating? Maybe a political agenda or are they just trying to sustain their jobs. Something stinks in the state of climate change.
