When you're right you're right. For me, the ultra-nuance in Ukraine is the historical one. As in WW2. The people of the Ukraine paid a devastating price stopping the Nazi's and that sort of thing can make a people proud - but it was while they were part of the USSR. This wouldn't create too much trouble unless you know the history well enough to know how badly the people of Ukraine were treated (sacrificed) during that time.
