About the only way that might get in there is from the cutting machine. But that much per tea bag and your blades would wear out in hours. So, I'm thinking deliberate addition. In any case, iron is harmless and also doesn't dissolve. Although it would make the tea attract microwaves, allowing the tea to perform better in a microwave.

There are consequences to having metal shavings in your body.

Melissa, the Metal is inside the teabag, not loose. how are they going to get through the filter paper?

If it's fine enough it can get through, just like the tea gets through sometimes, you can see it on the bottom of the cup. It seems they put metal in many things where it doesn't need to be, too much metal accumulation in the body can only cause harm and imbalance.
