Club of Rome Dennis Meadows -I hope it can occur in a civil way

Getting from 7 billion to 1 billion in a “civil” way. You don’t have to do much to fertility rates to bring the birth rate lower than the death rate, and the rest is exponential math.

Never mind that the same "kind" of people have caused misery throughout history - during times when a lot fewer people consumed a lot less. Never mind the 300sqm are enough to let a family of 4 live self-sufficiently with clever farming. That, 300sqm, means you could fit all 8 billion people into, say, Texas and Oklahoma with enough land for an infrastructure. Less than 2% of Earth's landmass is build up with any sort human artifacts - house, roads, etc. The overpopulation bs is just that: bs! Overconsumption of the wrong stuff, yes, that IS a problem, but it's not Billy Bob down the road who invented microplastics and triple palm fat aspartame Lattes.. it's these fuckers who bitch about overpopulation

I calculated this myself, and your estimate is correct for a family of four. Texas and Oklahoma are not even the most productive lands on Earth, so it is possible even less land would be needed for a family of four. Just saying that there are 8 billion people on earth creates the impression that the Earth cannot support that many people, but your example certainly puts things in perspective.
