Hundreds took to the streets of the Tunisian capital Tunis on Saturday to demand the release of protesters who were arrested during days of recent unrest in the African country. Scuffles broke out between police officers and protesters who were seen chanting and holding signs demanding the resignation of the government. Protesters had marched on from Human Rights Square to Habib Bourguiba Avenue in Tunis. Their attempts to reach the interior ministry failed after police set up blockades in their path. According to media outlets, more than 1,000 people have been arrested in the anti-government protests in the last two weeks. Protests in Tunisia started after the Tunisian government imposed a nationwide four-days lockdown to curb the spread of the coronavirus. All these cops better remember that when the people rise up, they will be hunted down by the people and revenge will be exacted on them.
