Conflicting, frequent, periodic changes in guidelines are not helping anything/anyone but simply making a mockery of science. Mockery of, insult to human intellect. It’s an insult to injury. From No-Need-to-Mask to 1 then 2 and possibly to 3 layers of masks, experts kept on flip-flopping on mask guidelines. Despite fully aware of the fact that their recommendations have a powerful impact on behaviour, positive or negative, on masses. These instructions were/are behavioural interventions (telling people what to do). However, such flip-flopping has prevented the masses to develop a better understanding of what was/is going on? Where the benefits, if any, are? Positive expectations turned into negative emotions, because of the pervasive sense of control that it produces/produced. Now, nearly 2 years in the pandemic, suddenly there is a new but entirely opposing revelation surfaced among the covid czars community about cloth masks. Little while ago, Fauci categorically putting the debate of cloth masks to rest "once for all". But now, Dr Tam (Canada's Fauci) and Dr Lena (CNN health expert) have totally rejected the use of cloth masks. Dr Lena even vilified the cloth masks as facial decorations. Let’s be honest, with such pole apart guidelines/instructions, how should we assume that these experts are in the "know" of the pandemic as they kept on changing their minds on masks even after nearly 2 years in the pandemic, the pandemic of the century? When back in March-20, Fauci stressed that there was no need to walking around with masks, he later called it a noble-lie as N95 and surgical masks were in short-supply. I wonder if this time it is an over-supply issue of “Made in China” N95, surgical masks? Probably Fauci will flip-flop again, this time on cloth masks and will write to Dr Tam and Dr Lena showing his allegiance to new instructions. Similar to what he showed to Dr Wenhong Zhang after receiving email from him on masks efficacy in Mar-20.
