When sodium chlorite mix with stomach acid it produces chlorous acid, same thing white blood cells produce to oxidize pathogens. However, the reactive solution is caustic tasting and the the chlorous gas generated is noxious to the lungs. If I can't hurt you, it can't destroy what's killing you.

The UN is sure saying its good.. So I had a brief look around.. And this is what I found. --------------------------------------------- Abstract The effects of chlorine dioxide, ClO2, on the germination, oxidative metabolism and growth of barley seedlings were investigated. Barley seeds were separately treated with 0, 500, 1000 and 2000 mg.Lāˆ’1 ClO2 solutions. Differences in the percentage of seed germination were observed in treatments with 1000 and 2000 mg.Lāˆ’1 ClO2 solutions only. However, 1000 and 2000 mg.Lāˆ’1 ClO2 significantly decreased the germination percentage. > https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-019-42295-7
