Slater et al. at the Centre for Polar Observation and MODELLING, School of Earth and Environment (U of Leed) sure did a LOT of modeling, admittedly with various hi-tech observations. But when impressive observations are used in computer models the algorithms are always tailored to produce what the welfare (ie gov't funded) scientsts expect. Notably, to satisfy a) what they believe on faith and b) what will guarantee them a cheque in the next round of gov't funding. That's a no-brainer... having been involved in providing data for use in a modeling program as a Research Biologist & knowing how research grants get handed out: one has a good chance at getting a grant if one puts "thereby evaluating the impact of climate change" in the proposal. "Computer modeling" really ramps up the dollars. Has any computer modeling project EVER ended where the entire team realized, "Oh sh*t, it shows nothing is happening!"?
