Coastal Cities' Futures Depend on Today’s Climate Decisions

  - 2:17

Originally uploaded to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D7tAKG1by2E by climatecentral Sea levels centuries from now are tied to global temperatures reached in the near future. This simulation shows what can be saved--or lost--depending on how much global heating is limited in this century. Something's not right - not making sense? Recently, Google search brought up an article which shared that there were only 155,000 km^3 of ice & snow on earth. If that amt totally melted it would only raise water level at most 4". Can't find that article now. Google search brings up lots of articles estimating there are just under 6M km^3 of ice and snow on earth. If all that melted it would raise oceans just under 13 ft, not enough to inundate much land. Maybe a few more dykes like in Amsterdam? A CRREL total snow and ice on earth survey conducted early 1960s https://erdc-library.erdc.dren.mil/jspui/handle/11681/2630 said (pg 38 Tbl II-1) estimated total snow and ice on earth = 31.8M km^3. That's a difference of nearly 26M km^3 from what our scientists claim exists today. If that much snow and ice had melted from early '60s, (from about 60 years ago) ocean levels would be ~ 56 ft higher now than then. Not so(?) Current scientists claim earth's ice and snow are melting at 1.2T tons per year, or at ~ 50 pcf = 1,359 km^3. I'm assuming they are saying that's difference btw current snow/ice deposited & snow/ice remaining per year. At that rate it would take 4,415 years for 6M km^3 of ice and snow (part of Earth's fresh water depository) to melt and raise oceans ~13 ft. Blink of an eye in geologic time scale - but not something that should fill such as Greta with such dread! Not something that should cause nations to freeze their ppl in the winters by increasing costs of oil and gas or outright banning them. Not only are our politicians & govt bureaucrats abusing us along w/corrupted corporate legacy media & giant tech venues, but also our "scientists" have been reduced to $cientists, outputting ridiculous conclusions about anthropocentric catastrophic climate change because that is what their patrons demand. So much for truth guiding us. Damn shame.

What bullshit the earth has cycles. Ice age, thermal age, hydro age, No one but GOD can control the weather. Damn idiots.

I find it intriguing that they use the term "deep pollution cuts". Idiots don't appear to recognize that CO2 is not a pollutant, and it's the one which is claimed to be the trigger for global warming. Egads. Well, their propaganda works if the audience is not smarter than a lemming.

Their models don't even work going back in history, why would any sane person expect the future projections to be accurate?
